Skilled Workers & Professionals
1. To be eligible for this program you have to meet the following:
- you have an offer of arranged employment, OR
- you have been living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, OR
- you are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the occupations listed here.
2. If you are eligible, you must also meet the following minimum requirements:
- have one year continuous work experience in the last 10 years in an occupation which falls in the Skill Type O (managerial) or Skill Level A (professional) or B (technical and trades).
3. If you meet the minimum requirements, you then have to meet the passmark of 67 points on the following six selection factors. Try the self-assessment test on the CIC website to see if you qualify under the point system. Please note that if you do not meet the 67 points under the Skilled Worker Program, there are other categories under which you might qualify.
4. You must also show proof of funds to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.
5. Pass the admissibility requirement which is a medical exam and a security and criminality check. |
